Blue Mountains National Park - Waratah Picnic Area, 5th April 2013

Above the Gorge, where the flowering plants were photographed, was a orchard up until the late 1960's, then a 'native garden' then turned over to be part of the Blue Mountains National Park.
Not a great deal of colour on this late in the day, short but unexpectedly interesting stroll along 'The Gorge Walking Track'. Due to the number of ferns and other shade loving plants growing in the gorge, green was the dominate colour theme of today.

Scaring to tree trunk caused by vines.

 

Clean skin.    Angophora costata  -
  Sydney Red Gum, Smooth  Barked Apple,
 sheds last years bark.

 

Tetratheca sp. (thymifolia?)  -  Black-eyed Susan.

 

Dillwynia retorta  -  Eggs and Bacon, Heathy Parrot Pea.

Hymenophyllum cupressiforme  -  Common Filmy-fern.
Only being one cell thick it's possible to see through
this plant.

Blechnum patersonii  -  Strap Water-fern.
